MECHANICSVILLE, VA – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce recently hosted U.S. Representative Rob Wittman (R-VA-01) for a roundtable discussion in Mechanicsville, Virginia with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.

We applaud Congressman Wittman for working to ensure that the constituents of the First District of Virginia continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond.

“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce thanks Congressman Wittman for continuing to champion a competitive tax code that raises wages and increases job opportunities for all Americans,” said Clark Jackson, Senior Director of Regional Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “All policy is local, and Congressman Wittman demonstrated his strong commitment to pro-growth tax policies that drive economic expansion and enhance prosperity for his constituents of the First District of Virginia and communities across the United States."

“Virginians want a tax system that supports working families, encourages job creation, and holds Washington accountable,”said Congressman Wittman. “Today’s roundtable was an important conversation about how the pro-growth business tax provisions in H.R. 1 will impact local employers, create new opportunities for workers, and strengthen our economy. I want every resident of Virginia’s First District to know that my office is always here to listen and to advocate for policies that lower costs, reduce the tax burden, and strengthen opportunities for all.”

“The cuts included in the 2017 TCJA were very important to our business customers and to CodeBlue Technology,” said Trey Hayden, CEO of CodeBlue Technology. “For example, the expanded Section 179 deduction provides for technology investments to help our customers be competitive and grow. We thank Rep. Rob Wittman for working to extend and expand these provisions and supporting small businesses. When our customers grow through technology, we grow along with them. Together we provide more jobs and more opportunities within our community.”

The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. These events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
