As the U.S. Senate considers the nomination of Preston “Wells” Griffith III to be Under Secretary of Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce offers the following observations. Mr. Griffith’s extensive experience in both domestic and international energy policy, as demonstrated during his confirmation hearing, makes him exceptionally qualified for this critical DOE leadership role. We urge swift consideration of Mr. Griffith’s nomination and look forward to working with him upon his confirmation.
